Hey guys! A Quick patch to Pouchie The Cat. I messed up the code for the World 2 shortcuts, which actually made it that you couldn't actually unlock World 2, Level 8, and by extension, the boss fight. This has since been patched, as well as patching a bug where mobs that spawned from a spawner continued to exist even after switching to a new level. Added in a code that auto kills spawner-made mobs when a level first starts up.

Check out the game and see how it runs with the new patches!

Sorry for the long hiatus everyone, but Pouchie The Cat Alpha 0.5 is finally released, marking the biggest milestone of the game to date: The game is now 50% completed! We got half the game done, with the other half now in development! This is incredibly exciting news, especially as most of the main features are already implemented in the game. So now all that's left is developing the last two worlds and their boss battles. I'm not gonna say production's going to be a lot faster, since I'm still only one person in charge of all the coding and game development side of things, but I like to think that the road will be easier going forward.

If you haven't checked out the new alpha, it's up on Newgrounds and itch.io. As usual, I do recommend donating to the link in my Linktree, as every penny helps speed up development: https://linktr.ee/ThatElfNerd

February 21st marked the one year anniversary of the day I first created the Godot project file for Pouchie The Cat. What started as a small college project where I was self-teaching myself game development and coding has now evolved into a full passion project in the making. What started as a one-level game with only one enemy, and the only collectible being coins has now turned into a game with cutscenes, two worlds, 12 levels, one boss, and three different collectible items. And it's only going to grow bigger as time goes on.

It hasn't been an easy journey, especially for a mostly solo project, where the only outside help has been suggested by friends, and the occasional players, but I feel like I've accomplished a lot under the circumstances.

So what's the plan going forward?

As of right now, I feel like I need a small break, as I was nearly pulling my hair out trying to make sure nothing was broken before release. But I have already got a plan for World 2's boss, and I intend to work on getting the sprites and battle set up before the next big release, which will be Alpha 0.5, when ALL of World 2's built and complete. I also have plans to have Grump The Pug show up in the next update as well. The plan is to have him run away whenever you defeat the boss and open the door to the next world. At least, until his eventual boss battle.

In the meantime, I also want to put energy into my live streams on Twitch. You can get updates on both my streams, and game updates by following my discord! And feel free to interact and make friends in the discord: https://discord.gg/Cxfzm55RgP

Also, since this has been a solo project that I've been pouring a lot of energy into, donations to either my linktree or my StreamElements to support me, and by extension, the project would be greatly appreciated:
